Many people attended our Duck Derby on Labor Day last year. We had many cash prizes, frequent door prize drawings, lots of great food and live entertainment. Founded in 1989 by Lion Past President Don Charbonneau, this event is held each year on Labor Day at the Canal Park (behind the Tavern on the Lock Restaurant). Plans for the 2010 Duck Derby are now underway. At 3:00 p.m. on Labor Day, thousands of these rubber ducks will be dumped into the Oswego River Canal. They will then float to a finish line using PVC piping which was placed into the river. The first duck to reach the canal wall will win a first prize of $2,000 with approximately thirty additional prizes awarded. The last place duck holder will receive season tickets to S.U. football.
We will sell food, pull tabs and raffles throughout the day. Entertainment will be provided. This event will be a great end of the summer party.
