FULTON LIONS CLUB COLLECTS USED CELL PHONES

FULTON, NY – The Fulton Lions Club has announced that they will be conducting a drive to collect used cell phones during the next several months, said Brett Tallents, club vice president.

“For each used cell phone we collect, the Fulton Lions Club will receive a cash payment from a recycler,” Tallents said. “This is good for the environment and it helps us obtain additional financial support for local sight and hearing preservation and community projects.”

Cell phones can be accepted from individuals, schools or businesses, Tallents said. “Cell phones and batteries are all that is accepted. Phone chargers and accessories are not needed.” Phones may be dropped off at the following Fulton locations: The Family Chiropractic Office, 53 S., 3rd St; The Medicine Shoppe, 200 E. Broadway; Steve Chirello Advertising, 121 S. First St; The Oswego Heritage Federal Credit Union, or with any Fulton Lions Club Member.

For more information, Tallents can be reached at 593-3225.

Monies raised will go to community projects such as sight and hearing, scholarships, Make-A-Wish, Bill Aubin Cancer Fund Raiser, Boy Scouts, Voorhees Park playground project and the Golisano Children's Hospital.
